Wod Hero : Liste des entraînements pour rendre hommage aux héros disparus

Les WOD HERO sont des entraînements populaires au sein de la communauté Crossfit. Ils permettent de rendre hommage à des soldats (souvent américains) disparus tragiquement.

Le CrossFit est un sport souvent pratiqué dans les différentes armées du monde entier. Les entraînements sont relativement courts (maximum une heure), très intenses et ne nécessitent pas obligatoirement du matériel. Les mouvement, fonctionnels, sont particulièrement adaptés à la condition physique du militaire.

C’est quoi un WOD Hero ?

Aucun autre CrossFit WOD n’est aussi important que les « Hero WOD ». Les Wod Hero sont plus que de simples entraînements. C’est une façon d’honorer la mémoire d’hommes et de femmes courageux qui ont donné leur vie dans l’exercice de leurs fonctions.

Nous nous souvenons du sacrifice de ces soldats, marins, aviateurs, marines, policiers, pompiers et agents fédéraux lorsque nous faisons ces entraînements.

Les entraînements CrossFit, ou WOD, mettent à l’épreuve votre force et votre condition physique d’une manière que peu d’autres sports font. Ils vous mettent souvent en difficulté, essayant de reprendre votre souffle alors que vous êtes allongé sur le sol du gymnase à l’agonie. Rien ne vous motivera plus à aller de l’avant que de penser au sacrifice consenti par les hommes et les femmes dont ces entraînements portent le nom.

Le premier WOD Hero a été inventé en juillet 2005 pour honorer la mémoire du Premier maître 2e classe Jeff Taylor mort au combat en Afghanistan le 28 juin 2005.

L’un des WOD hero les plus connus est le WOD Murph qui a servi à départager les athlètes des CrossFit Games en 2015 et qui a vu la victoire de Mat Fraser.
